Jaspal Bhatti needs no introduction but the one who needs is his son Jasraj Bhatti who is introduced with this film. Jasraj has been in news lately for directing four-minute animation film on tree conservation named Bunty's Tree but with Power Cut he will be debuting as an actor, Female lead is Surilie Gautam(talented TV Actor Meet Milade fame and younger sister of Viky Donor lead Yamini Gautam).

‘Power Cut’ is a satire on the dismal power situation in the state and the working of the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL). Though the ace satirist needs no introduction, the fact that Bhatti himself was part of the erstwhile Punjab State Electricity Board, an earlier avatar of what is now known as the PSPCL.

An electrical engineer, Bhatti worked on a senior post before taking premature retirement a few years ago. His one-time colleague says that he was not interested in the job and was keen on producing movies and comedy programmes. “Typically, the power corporation employees like doing everything else except taking their job seriously,” a senior engineer remarked. ‘Power Cut’ may have missed the peak power outage season, but the film in which the heroine’s name is Bijli and the hero is called Current looks set to strike a chord with moviegoers

Power Cut Synopsis

When you give a pen in Jaspal Bhatti’s hand, he will churn out a story that is going to be different stuff. If by chance you assign him to mis-direct the movie you are sure to go mad laughing in the theatre. Those who have fake dentures are advised to keep them in their pockets or else they may lose them while laughing laud in the darkness of the cinema halls.

It is basically a youngsters’ movie. Two young boys and a beautiful young girl named ‘Bijli’ in an electrifying love story. The film is backed up by strong team of A-class comedians and some known faces of Bollywood, Punjabi cinema and theatre artists.
